Birthday surprise for Serbia and Thailand!
20 July 2012 There was an extra-special surprise in store for two of the Miss World contestants today and we’ve got the pictures to show you!
Bojana Lecic, the national representative for Serbia, celebrated her birthday today and Vanessa Herrmann of Thailand had hers (just before everyone arrived in China) on the 17th. Here at Miss World, we don’t like to let a birthday to go by unmarked so there was some super-secret organisation behind the scenes!

The moment when Bojana realised the ‘meeting’ was in her honour!

The girls were called to an ‘official meeting’ in the dining room but when they arrived it turned out that it was actually in order to present the two birthday belles with a beautiful cake each, and to serenade them with a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday! (Being an international group of women, the two contestants were treated to three versions of the song, one in English, one in Spanish and one in Chinese – which the hotel staff all joined in with!)

When they had recovered from their surprise, the two ladies blew out their candles to rapturous applause and then very kindly helped all their fellow contestants to slices of cake before having some themselves.

19 year old Barbara Turbay was crowned as Miss World Colombia 2012 / Miss Mundo Colombia 2012 during a private ceremony on mid-March.
Barbara Turbay competed and placed 1st run-up in Miss Bogota 2011. She is also the cousin of Paola Turbay, Señorita Colombia 1991 and 1st run-up in Miss Universe 1992.


Because of Miss World’s change of it's traditional schedule, Colombia organized a special casting call to choose their representative in Miss World 2012. The winner of Miss World Colombia, which will happen on the second semester, will compete in Miss World 2013.
Barbara Turbay will compete in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China on August 18.

Miss World Bolivia 2012 Mariana Garcia's National Costume & Evening Gown for Miss World 2012







SANTA CRUZ DE LA SIERRA, Bolivia - Alexia Laura Viruez Pictor (18, 1.77m, Santa Cruz) was the grand winner of the Miss Bolivia 2012 pageant and received the Miss Universo Bolivia 2012 title. She will represent Bolivia in Miss Universe 2013.
Mariana García Mariaca (23, 1.74m, La Paz) finished in second place and received the Miss Mundo Bolivia 2012 title at the Siriono Hall of Fexpocuz in Santa Cruz. She will represent Bolivia in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, People's Republic of China on August 18.
Stephanie Núñez Nogales (20, 1.74m, Pando) finished third and received the Miss Internacional Bolivia 2012 title and will go to Miss International 2012 in Okinawa, Japan next October.


Alexia Viruez is the first official representative of Bolivia in Miss Universe beauty pageant and she will represent Bolivia in the 62nd edition of Miss Universe beauty contest, Miss Universe 2013. While Yessica Mounton will represent Bolivia in Miss Universe 2012 which is the 61st edition of Miss Universe beauty contest.

Mariana Garcia was crowned Miss Mundo Bolivia 2012 or Miss Bolivia World 2012 at the finale Miss Bolivia 2012 at the lounge Siriono Fair Exhibition, Santa Cruz on Thursday, 31st May, 2012. Mariana is 23 years old and stands 1.73cm. She will represent Bolivia at Miss World 2012 pageant, which will be held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, Chian on 18th August, 2012.
